Student Dental Program Benefits
The Student Dental Program in British Columbia offers eligible students comprehensive dental benefits through Studentcare as part of their health and dental coverage. Under the current policy year (September 1, 2025 – August 31, 2026), students receive up to $750 per policy year in dental benefits that help cover essential services like exams, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and other restorative procedures. The insured portion of your dental plan reimburses a percentage of the cost of covered services according to the Provincial Dental Fee Guide for General Practitioners in BC, and you remain covered for these insured services regardless of which licensed dentist you visit.
To maximize savings, students are encouraged to visit a Studentcare Dental Network provider. When you choose a network dentist, your plan typically covers 40 % to 70 % of the basic dental cost, and you receive an additional 30 % dental network savings, which can bring your total coverage up to 100 % of eligible costs for many services. Below is a simplified breakdown of core dental benefit levels under the plan:
